Chairman Tom Curran of Red Top Electric Company continues a family tradition of service to the union electrical industry. His dad, George "Red" Curran, was a pioneer in the development of the Northern California Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association. In the past, Tom has served the union electrical contracting industry as President of the Northern California Chapter, NECA and Chairman of the Alameda County JATC. He currently serves as Governor of the NCC-NECA.
Tom represents the Electrical Contractors Trust of Alameda County on the Electri' 21 Council of the Electrical Contracting Foundation and serves as Chairman of the Career Awareness Committee for the Alameda ECT.
Vice Chairman Brad Gill - Bradley “Brad” A. Gill was born and raised in Oakland and Piedmont. After graduating Piedmont High School, he took business affiliated courses at the University of San Francisco. Later, Brad applied for, and was accepted into, the electrical apprenticeship as “#2 on The List.” The apprenticeship program is administered by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the National Electrical Contractor’s Association (NECA). After completing his apprenticeship, he went to work for the family company as an estimator, later becoming a project manager. Gill is credited with hundreds of large and small projects, including Lake Merritt’s “Necklace of Lights.” Brad has been active in NECA for over 25 years, serving on, as well as chairing many of its committees. He has held a seat on its Board of Directors consistently for more than fourteen years, and currently serves as its Treasurer. He is the current chairperson of the Electrical Contractors Trust of Alameda County, where he served as a Trustee for more than a dozen years. Gill is now serving as the Vice President/Secretary of the Boys and Girls Club of Oakland and is a member of the Lake Merritt Breakfast Club. Brad has always been involved in his community. He is past-president of the Exchange Club of Oakland, has held seats on the Board of Directors for Oakland Rotary #3, downtown Kiwanis Club, and the Executives Association of Oakland. Brad is a Free Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, and Aahmes Temple of the Mystic Shrine. Most recently, he was nominated, and became a member of, The Hundred Club. In his personal life, Brad enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters (Jamie and Megan Gill, who now work at Gill’s Electric), and traveling to the mountains, where he fishes and skis.
